When I grow up…

Lance

… I want to be me Lance LaMar. I want to be 40, and a pilot, and own a business, and have a husband, and be so hot that people crash their cars at the site of you, clothed. And naked, I mean, it should be illegal!
But luckily it is not.
And today Lance Lamar turns 40. I’ve been lucky enough to work with Lance a few times, and MegaMuscle, and he’s one of the nicest guys alive. Hell, he sat next to my mom at a TGIFridays in Vegas and shared a Bloomin’ Onion. (Yes, he eats garbage and has this body.) Nevertheless, he’s a cool guy, who’s done so much already and being that “Fit at 40,” who knows what he will do next. Happy Birthday, mister.

LA is Burning

Glendale Fire

As I was walking home from the corner store today, I saw the start of a great big fire in the hills of Glendale. Just north of I-134. By the time I got home and grabbed my bike and camera the fire had more than doubled in size. Within minutes the smoke and flames spread further north up into the hills faster than I could believe. People are lining the streets in Eagle Rock to watch the show. Fire trucks have been blazing by for the past 30 mins and I hear helicopter over head. Hopefully it will be contained soon. This is definitely the closest I’ve been to an infamous LA fire. And as close as I ever want to get.

Double Indemnity (1944)

Double Indemnity

It’s love and murder at first sight.

What a movie.
Double Indemnity stars the dad from My 3 sons, Fred MacMurray, and Barbara Stanwyck, who did a million things in her career including a few episodes of Dynasty in the 80’s. Filmed in 1944 in Hollywood, CA this movie loves to mention Los Angeles classic spots like the Hollywood Bowl and Franklin Ave.

It’s a murder mystery with a pretty basic plot, though there are some twists and turns. The clothing and hair are beautiful. Everyone smokes like a chimney. There is even a scene where a cigarette is lit for a dying man who’s been shot and has collapsed. You don’t see that now. This is a classic that I’m glad I watched and recommend to all of you.
